Fueled into Fall

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables.

We are now in the midst of fall and are back in the routine of lessons and practicing! However, this past few months has been a wonderful experience in growing and learning to progress toward our goals for this year. Hopefully everyone was able to participate in some of the highlights of the season!

Our kickoff into summer was the annual showcase in May, which did a brilliant job of exhibiting our amazing students and how far they've come in their performing arts training. The audience enjoyed a traverse through the decades with uplifting tunes such as "Here Comes the Sun" and "Pianoman," and a fun rendition of some of Queen's most popular hits.

After "Decades," the studio was catapulted into musical theater season. This year's first performance was the Broadway version of Peter Pan Jr., and our fabulous cast put on an unforgettable show. Our trip to Neverland lasted two weeks and gave students the opportunity to break out of their shells and discover more about the world of Broadway. They were even able to take a VIP trip on a charter bus to see the real show at the Dr. Phillips Center, which was greatly enjoyed by all!

Lochwood also hosted a musical theater camp for our younger students, who were adorable as always in Pirates: The Musical. Under the instruction of Ms. Stephanie Hobden, they learned basic sightreading skills and what it means to be a performer.

Though the excitement of these events has died down, our teachers have been so happy to resume lessons and reconnect with each and every student. We are looking forward to seeing where this coming season takes us, as well as getting to know our new signups over the course of the year.

We have missed you all! Welcome back to Lochwood Academy! :)
